Spey Casting Seminar with Zack Williams

Day of Spey

Saturday, July 8th. Ben Howard Boat Ramp -Skykomish River
9am-Noon: Beginner Spey Casting Course
Develop the basics fundamentals of several Spey casts that will get you out on the water and fishing with a two-hand rod. Background info will cover equipment, simple fundamentals and the how and why of the Spey cast. Then conclude the class by receiving personal instruction to develop your Spey casting skills.
1pm-4pm Spey Fishing Fundamentals
Learn the skills necessary to be successful swinging flies for steelhead: proper fly presentation, selecting the proper equipment setup and flies for the conditions, and more will be covered and practiced hands on.
Cost: $125 per session
Limit 6-8 persons per session.
Equipment needed: Waders, Spey rod/reel/line or arrange a loaner in advance:
Instructor: Former Gig Harbor fly shop employee, Zack Williams is a full time Spey guide and casting instructor, international Spey casting competitor (4th in the world at the 2016 Spey O Rama world championship), and editor of Swing the Fly magazine. See more at &

Private Spey Casting Instruction:

Learn new casts or correct faults in your current casting stroke! Rates: $40 hr. To schedule your lesson give us a call. 253-851-3474.

Class Cancellation Policy:

Our students’ and instructors’ time is valuable and we make every attempt to ensure a quality learning experience.

In the event that a student needs to cancel or reschedule, students must contact us at least 7 days in advance to reschedule. Within 7 days out from the scheduled class, we may be able to reschedule a student for a $25 rescheduling fee (provided there is open enrollment in an upcoming class). No refunds on cancellations.

The instructor reserves the right to cancel the scheduled class in the event of unsafe weather conditions or unforeseen scheduling issues/emergencies. Additionally, the instructor may cancel and/or reschedule a class up to five days before the scheduled class if the enrollment in a class is inadequate.

We strive to ensure a quality experience with our classes and attempt to reasonably accommodate students and instructors when permissible. We recognize everyone’s time is valuable!
